Delta*ABC is a right triangle, BC is a semicircle, find area of Figure

Solution: Delta,Triangle, Semicircle

Area of whole figure= Area of Triangle +Area of semi circle

By using Pythagoras theorem to find the length of Side BC

Hypotenuse =H

Base=4

Perpendicular=3

H^2=P^2+B^2

H^2=3^2+4^2

H^2=9+16

H^2=25

Taking square root on both sides

H=5

Hence The length of side BC is 5 which is called diameter of semicircle

So the radius =Half of diameter r=2.5

Now find Area of whole figure

A=Area of Triangle +Area of semicircle

A=1/2 *Base *Height+ 1/2 *π*r^2

A=1/2×4×3+1/2×π×(2.5)^2

A=6+π(2.5)^2

Hence the total area of figure is

A=6+π(2.5)^2
